HTML <aside>
Tag
The <aside>
tag in HTML is used to define content that is tangentially related to the content around it. This content can be considered as a sidebar, a pull quote, an advertisement, or any other content that is not directly related to the main content of the page.
Attributes for the <aside>
tag:
Attribute | Description |
---|---|
align | Specifies the alignment of the content inside the <aside> element. Can be set to "left", "right", or "center". |
class | Specifies one or more class names for the element, which can be used to apply CSS styles to the content. |
style | Specifies inline CSS styles for the element. |
Example:
<aside align="right" class="sidebar">
<h3>Recent Posts</h3>
<ul>
<li>Post 1</li>
<li>Post 2</li>
<li>Post 3</li>
</ul>
</aside>
In the above example, an <aside>
element is used to create a sidebar on the right side of the page, displaying a list of recent posts. The align
attribute is set to "right" to align the content to the right side of the page, and the class
attribute is set to "sidebar" to apply specific styles to the sidebar using CSS.
