HTML Id

An HTML id attribute is used to uniquely identify an element on a webpage. This allows you to easily target and style specific elements using CSS, as well as manipulate the element using JavaScript.

How to Use HTML Id

To add an id attribute to an HTML element, you simply include the attribute within the opening tag of the element. The value of the id attribute should be unique within the entire HTML document.

<p id="uniqueId">This is a paragraph with a unique id.</p>

Once you have assigned an id to an element, you can target it in your CSS by using a hash symbol followed by the id value:

#uniqueId {
    color: red;
}

You can also target an element with a specific id value in JavaScript to manipulate its content or behavior:

var element = document.getElementById('uniqueId');
element.innerHTML = 'This paragraph has been updated with JavaScript!';

Remember, the use of id attributes should be limited to unique identifiers within a webpage. If you need to apply similar styles or functionality to multiple elements, consider using class attributes instead.
