HTML <strike> Tag Tutorial

The <strike> tag is used to draw a horizontal line through the text, indicating that it is no longer relevant or accurate. It is a deprecated tag in HTML5, and it is recommended to use <del> or <s> instead for similar effects. However, the <strike> tag is still supported by most browsers for compatibility.

Example:

<p>This text is <strike>crossed out</strike>.</p>

The above code will display the text "crossed out" with a horizontal line through it.

Attributes of the <strike> Tag:

Attribute Description
style Specifies the CSS styling for the struck-through text.
class Specifies one or more classes to apply to the struck-through text for styling purposes.

To use the <strike> tag with attributes, you can do the following:

<p>This text is <strike style="color: red;" class="strike-text">struck through</strike>.</p>

In the above example, the text "struck through" will be displayed with a red color and a custom class applied for styling.
