HTML <noframes>
Tag
The <noframes>
tag in HTML is used to provide content for browsers that do not support frames. This tag is used within the <frameset>
tag to provide alternative content to be displayed in browsers that do not support frames.
The <noframes>
tag can contain any HTML content that you want to display if the user's browser does not support frames. This content can include text, images, links, and other elements that provide a meaningful alternative to the framed content.
Here is an example of how the <noframes>
tag can be used:
<frameset rows="20%,80%">
<frame src="header.html">
<frame src="content.html">
<noframes>
<p>Your browser does not support frames.</p>
<p>Click here</a> to view the content.</p>
</noframes>
</frameset>
In this example, if the user's browser does not support frames, the content within the <noframes>
tag will be displayed instead. The user will see a message informing them that their browser does not support frames, along with a link to view the content without frames.
Here is a table showing the main attributes of the <noframes>
tag and their use:
Attribute | Description |
---|---|
src | Specifies the URL of a document to be displayed in place of frames |
name | Specifies the name of the <noframes> element for referencing purposes |
